Welcome to Route 66 Children’s Ministries!

What is Route 66?

Route 66 is the ministry for children at Harvest Assembly of God. It is designed to bring children into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ through discipleship in God’s Word—the 66 books of the Bible that comprise God’s Original Route 66.

The mission of Route 66 is to:

  • CONNECT children to Christ through age-appropriate worship
  • Help them GROW with others through discipleship in God’s 66 Books of the Bible
  • Teach them to SERVE the world through ministry and missions

Who can participate in Route 66?

Boys and girls ages 3 through fifth grade.

Important Note: Preschool children must turn three by September 30. Children who turn three between October 1 and April 30 will join the first Sunday in April. School-age children will advance the first Sunday of September.

For the safety and wellbeing of preschool children, there must be a parent or legal guardian in attendance during the Sunday morning and Wednesday night programs.

What do kids do at Route 66?

At Route 66, children experience God in fresh and exciting ways that encourage them to live for Him 24/7! Three “stops” along Route 66 serve different purposes throughout the week: Coolsville, Kidsville and The Hop.

Coolsville

The goal of Coolsville is to introduce new kids to the love of Jesus Christ, and to disciple believers into a deeper relationship and understanding of God’s Word.

Children ages 3 through the 5th grade come to Coolsville on Sunday mornings. Service begins with energetic, current, media-driven praise and worship, led by our children’s Praise Jam. School-age children stay in Coolsville to learn more about God’s Word through video lessons, games and activities.

Kidsville

The goal of Kidsville is to introduce preschool children to the love of Jesus Christ and prepare them for a life-long relationship with Him.

Following worship on Sunday morning in Coolsville, preschool children go to Kidsville, where they are introduced to Jesus and the Bible throughvideo lessons, stories, games, songs, crafts and snacks.

The Hop

The goal of The Hop is to reach the children of the church and community through fun programs and personal relationships with an emphasis on salvation. Believers will continue in discipleship while preparing for future ministry.

Children ages 3 through the 5th grade meet at The Hop on Wednesday evenings. Service begins with praise and worship, led by our children’s Praise Jam. School-age children stay at The Hop to learn more about God’s Word through interactive lessons, games and hands-on, group activities. Preschool children return to Kidsville for their own age-appropriate lessons and activities.

Missions at Route 66

Route 66 participates in the Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge. Children receive a Buddy Barrel to fill with change and bring to church the first Sunday of each month. A special missions lesson is presented on BGMC Sunday, along with special snacks and activities. Route 66 also supports a child from the Dominican Republic through Compassion International. Funds are raised through children’s offering and special activities (VBS offering, Matchbox Car Show, etc.).

Activities at Route 66

Children are encouraged to participate in church activities such as Vacation Bible School, Easter Egg Hunt and Christmas Party. Check the church calendar frequently for upcoming events.

Is there a cost to attend Route 66?

There are no fees for Route 66. Children are encouraged to bring an offering each week for the missions fund. Some activities may have a cost, but parents will be notified prior to the activity.
